Minor pre-panics
This literally happens to me every time I am on my way of posting a Happy Birthday-post on social medias. I panic. And why do I panic? Because - what if, it's not actually their birthday today? But I know it is, because have a slight memory of it since last year, all social medias are telling me it is their birthday, and the worst thing is, there are post everywhere. Hundreds of people saying "Happy Birthday!" on all social medias, and I see it, I read multiple ones and I start thinking about how I should write my post. But seconds before I press that post button, I stop. I check again, on all social medias, just to make sure that it is this person and that it is today. And the answer is there right in front of me, it's their birthday for fucks sake. Still, I worry what I'll be putting us both in an awkward situation. That I'd be stupid enough to say happy birthday on the wrong day. This person has to read it and is now forced to reply to me explaining I got it wrong. And the mistake is exposed to everyone, on the internet.
Compare this feeling to when you take a very personal (or very private) snapchat, send it fast, and then suddenly realise you might have sent it to the wrong person. Yes, it kind of feels like that.
It's a minor panic attack. I definitely don't recommend it. It's ridiculously stupid. And of course, this whole situation will end (in 98% of all cases) in a notification from your social media, where this person thanks you for your cute little post. End of story, everyone's happy.
